10th Annual Art Lives Here

Saturday, October 6th – 6-8:30 pm

SAT. OCTOBER 6th, 2018 – 6 – 8:30 pm

10th Annual
Art Lives Here
Silent Art Auction

This popular, once-a-year Art Auction showcases outstanding donated works of art in support of the healing arts at Hirsch Wellness.

The Art Lives Here Silent Auction has become a tradition of giving for many local and regional artists. Diverse works of fine art and artisanal craft are donated, assuring that cancer survivors and caregivers attending Hirsch Wellness Programs will continue to receive emotional support and benefit from year-round, free-of-charge creative arts and wellness classes and workshops.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of this fun, fabulous event celebrating the survivors and caregivers, artists and art lovers in our community.

On Saturday, October 6th, 2018 from 6 to 8:30 pm, “Art Lives Here” returned to Greensboro’s Revolution Mill in the renovated 1250 Arts Building —  home of the Hirsch Center for Creativity and Wellness. Guests enjoyed fabulous food and beverages along with terrific live music. It was an evening of viewing art, silent bidding, and connecting with artists and those in our community who have been touched by cancer. One Hundred Percent (100%) of funds raised at the auction will go directly to Hirsch Wellness programs, giving hope, healing and emotional support to cancer survivors, patients in treatment and caregivers.

Art Lives Here 2018 included a tour of the Hirsch Center, where artworks and stories from Hirsch program participants were displayed. Among these are the works and words of caregivers, whose roles serve a vital function in every survivor’s support system. “As a caregiver,” says one, “you may not be diagnosed with cancer but you physically and emotionally accompany the journey of recovery.”

Each year, the event continues to grow – in 2017, more than 150 works of art were donated by over 100 artists, raising more than $40,000 by night’s end.
