Research has found that cancer patients that have a regular yoga practice experience a reduction in stress along with seeing an improvement in their quality of life, appetite, and pain reduction.   Yoga has also been found to help with insomnia caused by the combination of physical and mental stress that makes sleep difficult.  Some research has found yoga to be able to help improve sleep quality, efficiency, and duration.  This class is an opportunity to explore some of these practices that may be beneficial in these areas. 

All levels are welcome.

Join Bill Savage to explore the fundementals of Taiji/Qigong and meditation and benefit from a complete practice for improving health and overall well-being. The gentle, slow movements of Qigong allow anyone to participate and progress at their own pace. Bill Savage is certified by The Center for Taiji Studies, founded by Dr. Yang Yang, and welcomes all levels of Taiji/Qigong experience, from beginner to advanced. Join this weekly yoga session designed for cancer survivors and their caregivers. In this class gentle yoga postures will be adapted to assist each student’s needs to promote flexibility, mobility and strength. Sessions will evolve with participant needs and include tips for starting a personal relaxation and meditation practice. Register at the front desk of Triad Yoga.

Additional helpful notes:
Please wear comfortable, non-restrictive, athletic-type clothing that allows freedom of movement, as yoga postures may include sitting, standing, bending and stretching in a number of positions. Be prepared to remove any footwear upon entering the facility; there is a shoe shelf directly opposite the front desk..Silence your cellphone and place personal items in the available cubicle storage space before entering the yoga studio. If you have a personal mat, strap, etc. you may bring it to the class if you prefer, however it is not required – Triad Yoga can supply all class props and materials. Class begins at 4 pm; if you arrive after 4 pm and the studio door is closed, please wait until the meditation at the beginning of the class has concluded before entering quietly.

This is a fun, friendly and welcoming group, but we take our practice seriously. All levels of practice are welcome. If you have any medical or physical issues that may impact your practice, please let Terry or other instructor know so accommodations can be made.
