Join this weekly yoga session designed for cancer survivors and their caregivers. In this class gentle yoga postures will be adapted to assist each student’s needs to promote flexibility, mobility and strength. Sessions will evolve with participant needs and include tips for starting a personal relaxation and meditation practice. Register at the front desk of Triad Yoga.

Additional helpful notes:
Please wear comfortable, non-restrictive, athletic-type clothing that allows freedom of movement, as yoga postures may include sitting, standing, bending and stretching in a number of positions. Be prepared to remove any footwear upon entering the facility; there is a shoe shelf directly opposite the front desk..Silence your cellphone and place personal items in the available cubicle storage space before entering the yoga studio. If you have a personal mat, strap, etc. you may bring it to the class if you prefer, however it is not required – Triad Yoga can supply all class props and materials. Class begins at 4 pm; if you arrive after 4 pm and the studio door is closed, please wait until the meditation at the beginning of the class has concluded before entering quietly.

Sound Journey Meditation w/ Alexander Tuttle @ Hirsch Center at Revolution Mill | Greensboro | North Carolina | United States

In this experiential group meditation, Alexander will create sounds with crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, Native American flute, tingshas, didgeridoo, sitar, chimes, bells, gong, drums, vocal toning and more. These stirring, releasing and calming sounds will be directed in a variety of ways that stimulate, align and restore equilibrium to the subtle energy centers of the body (known as chakras). It is not necessary to have an understanding of chakras to receive benefit from the sounds. After a brief introductory explanation of sound healing by Alexander, participants will be invited to rest quietly for up to 45-50 minutes during the sound journey session. Please bring a pillow, blanket, eye mask or whatever props you need to make yourself comfortable. Registration is required.

Along with a gentle movement practice, this Inner Balance class will lead you through guided meditation and visualization as tools to help combat stress, anxiety and other forms of tension. Negative thoughts and worry, if not dealt with, can weaken your physical state and make you more susceptible to various physical challenges. Relaxation techniques such as Imagery and meditation visualization are designed to release brain chemicals that act as natural tranquilizers, naturally assisting the body in lowering blood pressure, reducing heart rate and decreasing anxiety and stress. Come learn simple tools you can use to improve your mind, body and spirit every day!
