Kente cloth is a woven narrow band of cloth about 4” wide. These strips are carefully arranged and hand sewn together to create a cloth of desired size.Kente cloth designs are powerful cultural symbols that represent the history and philosophy of West Africa. In this workshop, we will continue to explore the different meanings of the colors and symbols and incorporate them into personal woven samples. Bring your work from the previous class or begin your own.
Zen Knitting is an old tradition with a relaxed, calm “Dancing Hands” approach. Enjoy the company of others as you learn or relearn to knit. Make a variety of items or just knit line upon line, no completed project necessary. Bring your own yarn and needles (Size 8 or larger, please) or use ours. Registration is required.
