Zen Knitting is an old tradition with a relaxed, calm “Dancing Hands” approach. Enjoy the company of others as you learn or relearn to knit. Make a variety of items or just knit line upon line, no completed project necessary. Bring your own yarn and needles (Size 8 or larger, please) or use ours. Registration is required.
In this class, horticultural therapist Catherine Crowder will share the craft of creating a wooden flower press to discover the beautiful practice of preserving floral pieces. The press can be used to create a range of faded pastels to more vibrant tones. Participants will take home a beautiful flower press to expand their imaginative approach to the use of natural materials; perhaps a leaf becomes a tree or petals form mountains. All materials will be provided. Class size is limited to 10 participants, and registration is required.
Paper Quilling or filigree is a relaxing art form of twisting small strips of paper into unique and beautiful 3-dimensional shapes, combining color and pattern to create a larger mosaic. Join in the making of personal mandalas. This meditative activity is enjoyable for women and men. All materials will be provided.
