Zen Knitting is an old tradition with a relaxed, calm “Dancing Hands” approach. Enjoy the company of others as you learn or relearn to knit. Make a variety of items or just knit line upon line, no completed project necessary. Bring your own yarn and needles (Size 8 or larger, please) or use ours. Registeration  is required.

In this holiday-inspired workshop, Jacqui Mehring will instruct us in the technique of creating woven paper ornaments. Beginning as a tradition in Finland, then adopted later by other countries, these constructions look complex yet are simple to make. They look beautiful in white but can also be made in many variations. Using a single color or  two colors of paper, metallic paper, or adding glitter and other adornments are just some of the possible options. Whether you hang them in a window, put them on top of your tree or give them as gifts to family or friends, you’re sure to be pleased with the results. Registration is required. Class size is limited to 10.

Stress is a modern-day epidemic; iRest (Yoga Nidra, “the yoga of sleep”) is a relaxing technique that promotes healthy physical changes that can keep stress in check. Studies show that high levels of stress lead to a weakened immune system and other physical and mental health issues. This Yoga Nidra practice will introduce you to a deep state of restful awareness, with a focus on releasing tension in the body and obtaining relief from mental and physical manifestations of stress.
