Fiber Arts: Kente Cloth

December 13 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Kente cloth is a woven narrow band of cloth about 4” wide. These strips are carefully arranged and hand sewn together to create a cloth of desired size. Kente cloth designs are powerful cultural symbols that represent the history and philosophy of West Africa. In this workshop, we will explore the different meaning of the colors and symbols and incorporate them into personal woven samples.
