Why Do Poems Have Feet? Poetry Class (online) with Molly Haile

February 17, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

An introduction to rhythm, meter, and sound in poetry: Join writer and author Molly Haile to explore how poets use sound to emphasize the meaning of their poems. We’ll unpack exactly what meter—including iambic pentameter—is, look at a few published poems to see how poets use sound to evoke emotion, and try out our new understanding with a few lines of our own. No writing experience needed. Registration is required.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE ACCESS TO THIS ZOOM CLASS. Registration closes on February 16th at 12 pm. You will receive an email with the Zoom access link on the day before class starts. IF YOU DO NOT GET THIS EMAIL OR IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL THE HIRSCH OFFICE AT 336.209.0259

IF YOU ARE NEW TO ZOOM OR HAVE TECHNOLOGY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL THE HIRSCH OFFICE AT LEAST 1 DAY PRIOR TO THE SESSION.
